mysteries of the human brain
It's funny how a song (even a song you think is crap) can fire your neurons and put you in a different time or place or give you back a person....I've heard "I miss you" by Blink 182 (ps, it's hot steaming garbage, I know) and it reminds me so much of a person that I met in Washington, DC when that song was out. For some reason, I've heard it three times in the last week. Maybe they have a new record coming out. Anyway, I've always loved the miraculous way your brain creates memories from songs and they stick with you forever and give you such a visceral shock when you hear them after a couple of years.
